New Therapy Helps Children with Disabilities

Andrew Brereton, CEO of Snowdrop Child Development consultants, announced a new treatment regime for children with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. The treatment is called ‘neuro-cognitive therapy’ and is a program, which families carry out at home for several hours per day. The new therapy focuses on helping the child’s sensory perception problems and learning difficulties. It does this by providing the appropriate “neurological environment in order to correct sensory misperceptions” and provides information at the correct level and manner to alleviate some of the learning difficulties.

Brereton felt it necessary to develop such a program after his son, who suffered from cerebral palsy and autism, died of a stroke four years ago. Brereton decided to go to school and learn more about the areas of child development and cognitive psychology.

Snowdrop, which launched earlier this year, has already received positive reactions. To date, Snowdrop has helped in the treatment of children in the U.S., South Africa, Indonesia, and the UK. Snowdrop is constantly continuing its development of new therapies to help children with needs.
